A fresh new year 2024 began with a new hope and prosperity. All Officers and Other Ranks of SLCMP lined up to welcome and greet the new year at 0900 hr on 01 January 2024.
A charming ceremony was held at RHQ premises which included the hoisting of flags, singing the national anthem and Army song. Thereafter, all troops observed the two minutes silence in the honor of fallen war heroes who laid their lives on ground to bring the motherland in to the joy of peace. The government service oath was declared where the all troops acknowledged the execution of effective and efficient service to the nation.
The Centre Commandant, Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Brigadier H M S I Senarath delivered the motivational speech by emphasizing the desired expectation from all members as the Provost regiment in this new year.
Finally, the ceremony was terminated with the all ranks tea with the participation of the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc. All troops of RHQ - SLCMP, 1 SLCMP, 5 SLCMP and SIU were received the opportunity to receive the greetings from the Colonel Commandant while having an interaction with all senior Officers.
