SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE EXTENDS SUPPORT TO FAMILY OF FALLEN SOLDIER

Considering the request made during the War Heroes Commemoration Ceremony held in Girithale on 22 March 2024, the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police reached out to support the family of a fallen war hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.

Under the guidance of the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police facilitated the donation of much-needed crutches to the parents of late Corporal Saman Kumara U G C - 2^nd Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police who sacrificed his life during a tragic terrorist attack in Palali, Elephant Pass on 3 April 1999.

Colonel R R P Perera, the Deputy Director of the Defence Service School - Colombo, presided over the donation on 27 March 2024 to the beloved parents, Mrs. Withanage Dayawathi and Mr. Udumalagala Gamage Gunawansha, who have been grappling with walking difficulties for an extended period.

The donation stands as a testament to the care towards the families of the fallen war heroes who belong to the regiment.
