On the evening of May 13, 2025, the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP), in collaboration with the Seva Vanitha Branch of the SLCMP, organized a Dansala in celebration of Vesak Full Moon Poya Day. The event exemplified the teachings of Lord Buddha, particularly the values of compassion and generosity, as a large number of devotees and passersby were warmly treated to traditional delicacies such as Cassava, Jackfruit, Gram, and Milk Coffee. The Dansala commenced with a religious blessing ceremony led by a Buddhist monk who invoked spiritual blessings upon all those involved in organizing and supporting the event. Several distinguished guests were present, including the Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General ULJS Perera RSP USP nps psc; the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Iresha Perera; the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier RD Sallay ndc; and the Centre Commandant of the SLCMP, Brigadier MMMP Mahesh Kumara. They were joined by senior officers, members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, and other ranks of the SLCMP. The event not only celebrated Vesak with heartfelt devotion but also highlighted the Corps’ unity, commitment to community service, and observance of traditions.
