SCHOOL OF MILITARY POLICE INAUGURATES OFFICERS PROVOST COURSE TO GROOM FUTURE LEADERS

In a momentous occasion aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, the School of Military Police inaugurated the Officers Provost Course No. 01 for year 2024. This significant endeavor, commenced on 25 March 2024, underscores the unwavering dedication to fostering qualified Provost Officers endowed with specialized skills and knowledge requisite for the proficient discharge of their duties.

Under the direction of the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, the training program commenced with 13 x Young Provost Officers.

The curriculum of the Officers Provost Course encompasses a diverse spectrum of subjects, encompassing Police Duties, Crime Investigation, Traffic Control, Unit Administration, as well as Military and Civil Law. Such a comprehensive pedagogical approach ensures that the newly Commissioned Provost Officers are thoroughly equipped to confront the multifaceted challenges inherent in their operational domain.

The Official commencement of the course was marked with the opening address by the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc. During the speech, The Senior Officer expressed his ideas on Officering as a Provost in contemporary situations with providing insights on the subjects relevant to their career progression where he emphasized the importance of discipline at all levels, maintenance of proper coordination of communication and continuation of excellent dedicated service as a responsible Provost Officer.

The Centre Commandant, Council members, Commandant of School of Military Police, Senior Officers, Officer Instructors and Student Officers were present at the inaugural session.
