The School of Military Police proudly celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a programme of commemorative activities that reflected both military tradition and spiritual devotion.
The celebrations commenced on 13 August 2025 with a Bodhi Pooja at the sacred Moggallana Rajamaha Viharaya, invoking blessings for the School’s continued success and the well-being of its members. Continuing the programme, an almsgiving was organized at Bosath Balika Lama Niwasaya on 14 August 2025, extending goodwill to the community while fostering the values of compassion and service.
In accordance with military customs, a Guard Turnout and Troop Address were conducted on 15 August 2025, symbolizing discipline and tradition. The occasion was further dignified with a group photograph, capturing the unity and esprit de corps on this historic milestone. Adding a refreshing change of atmosphere, a special visit to the scenic Sallativ Beach was organized on 16 August 2025, providing all ranks with the opportunity to strengthen comradeship and celebrate the achievements of the past 25 years in a relaxed environment.
The Commandant of the School of Military Police, Colonel I R Hanthanearachchi together with the Chief Instructor, Major H M C C Sooriyabandara USP, other Officers, the Regimental Sergeant Major, SNCOs and NCOs participated in the celebrations marking the 25th Anniversary a truly memorable occasion.
