NEWLY APPOINTED COLONEL COMMANDANT, MAJOR GENERAL ACA DE ZOYSA USP Hdmc Lsc ASSUMED DUTIES

Major General Clifford De Zoysa, the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army assumed office as the 11th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police during a brief ceremony, preceded by performance of religious observances and military formalities on Monday (22 May 2023) at the Regimental Headquarters Polhengoda, Colombo 5.

Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General ACA DE Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc was warmly received upon by the Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Brig AMR Abeysinghe at the Regimental Centre and was accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance in accordance with military formalities. Afterwards, He was saluted by SLCMP Troops at the parade square with a ceremonial Guard of Honour before he was invited to sit for a group photograph adding memories to the day.

The newly appointed Colonel Commandant symbolically left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office at the auspicious minute amidst blessing of the Maha Sanga who chanted Seth Pirith and blessed the new Office in the presence of several officers of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.

Later, the new Colonel Commandant planted a sapling in the compound and added memories to his inauguration of the office before he addressed his troops.

After a while, the Colonel Commandant addressed all Officers and Other Ranks where he expressed his vision for the regiment in the future. He also took his time off to address all Officers and Other Ranks who had not participated physically in the series of events virtually through webcasting. After that, he separately addressed to all SLCMP Officers who attended to the Ceremony.

The Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Brig AMR Abeysinghe, Council Members, Other Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police attended the inauguration of his new office.
