NEW COMMANDING OFFICER OF 3RD REGIMENT, SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE ASSUMES DUTIES

Amidst religious observances and military formalities, Major K A K Kariyawasam USP Lsc assumed duties as the 18th Commanding Officer of the 3rd Regiment, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (3 SLCMP), Galkulama on 01 September 2025.

On arrival, the newly appointed Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed by the Second-in-Command of 3 SLCMP, Major I M A B Illangasinghe Lsc. Thereafter, a Guard Turnout and a Ceremonial Parade were accorded by the troops of the regiment in honour of the new Commanding Officer.

The programme also included a group photograph, the planting of a sapling to mark the occasion, and a troop address, during which he outlined his vision and expectations for the regiment in the years ahead.

The event was graced by Senior Officers, Officers, Regimental Sergeant Mager, Warrant Officers, SNCOs and Other Ranks of the 3 SLCMP, marking a dignified commencement of duties.
