NEW COMMANDING OFFICER OF 1ST REGIMENT, SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE ASSUMES DUTIES

Amidst religious observances and ceremonial formalities, Lieutenant Colonel D G I P Gombarage USP psc Lsc assumed duties as the 25th Commanding Officer of the 1st Regiment, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Polhengoda, on 16 August 2025.

The newly appointed Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed by the Second-in-Command of the Regiment, Major K T Randika USP Lsc. Thereafter, a ceremonial Guard Turnout and Parade were accorded by the troops of 1 SLCMP in honour of the new Commanding Officer.

Following the parade, a group photograph was taken, a sapling was planted to mark the occasion, and the new Commanding Officer addressed the troops, where he outlined his vision and expectations for the years ahead.

Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of 1 SLCMP participated in the event.
