Major General U L J S Perera RSP USP nps psc officially assumed duties as the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police. The initial formalities took place on 10 January 2025, amidst solemn religious observances, marking the commencement of his new appointment.
The other formalities were ceremoniously held on 16 January 2025, featuring a series of traditional military customs. The events included a Guard Turnout, a Guard of Honour, planting of a sapling, a troop address, an all ranks tea and a comprehensive camp visit.
Senior Officers, Officers, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers were presented at the occasion, reflecting the significance of this prestigious appointment.
