INTER-BATTALION VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT OF SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE - 2025

The Inter-Battalion Volleyball Tournament – 2025 of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) was successfully organized by the 3 SLCMP at Galkulama, under the guidance of the Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General B G S Fernando USP Hdmc psc.

The preliminary rounds of the tournament were held on 01 November 2025, featuring 11 teams representing all SLCMP establishments.

The grand final took place on 07 November 2025 at the HQ 3 SLCMP, Galkulama, where 3 SLCMP triumphed over 5 SLCMP, emerging as the Champions of the Tournament after a thrilling contest. In individual performances, WO II Bentharage TP of 3 SLCMP was adjudged as the Best Setter, while Cpl Wickramasingha WASM of 5 SLCMP was recognized as the Best Attacker.

The final event was graced by the Military Secretary of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major Genaral BGS Fernando USP Hdmc psc as the Chief Guest. The occasion was also attended the Genaral Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division, Major General MWARC Wijesuriya RSP USP ndc; The Provost Marshal of Sri Lanaka Army, Major General AMR Abesinghe ndc; Centre Commandant of SLCMP, Brigadier RMKAS Rajanayake; BAQ SFHQ (W), Brigadier JS Munasinghe; Superintandent of Rehabilitation – Nawodawa Treatment Centre (Kandakadu), Brigadier EMI Ekanayake; Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of SLCMP.

The tournament concluded on a high note, reflecting the Esprit de Corps and commitment to sportsmanship and unity among all ranks of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.
