The foundation stone-laying ceremony for the proposed three-story Warrant Officers' and Sergeants' Mess of the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police took place on 15 October 2024.
The event was graced by the Director General, General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General SAND Edirisinghe RWP RSP Hdmc psc. The Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier RD Sallay ndc; the Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, and the Regimental Sergeant Major of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Warrant Officer I DMBGSW Bandara USP were also present at the venue.
The 100 x 29 feet, proposed three-story building funded by the Sri Lanka Army is expected to be completed within a few months. The construction will be undertaken by the Army Engineers, under the direct supervision of the Directorate of Engineer Services.
The ceremony was attended by the Director Engineer Services of the Sri Lanka Army, other senior officers, as well as officers and other ranks of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.
