Colonel I R Hanthanearachchi officially assumed duties as the Colonel (Administration) at the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police on 16 December 2024.
In this key appointment, the Senior Officer is tasked with overseeing the efficient operation of the Administration Branch, a pivotal component of the regimental structure. His responsibilities include managing legal affairs, financial accounts, veterans' welfare, regimental bands, Seva Vanitha Branch and the regimental institutes.
