The Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General B G S Fernando USP Hdmc psc, paid his first official visit to the 7th Regiment, SLCMP on 28 August 2025.
The visit commenced with a Guard Turnout presented in honour of the Colonel Commandant, followed by the Commanding Officer’s briefing, planting of a sapling, an all ranks tea and the signing of the Visitors’ Book to mark the occasion.
In his address to the troops, the Colonel Commandant emphasized the importance of the famous adopting the theme, “prevention is better than investigation,” underscoring that discipline remains the foremost priority in the Army. He further highlighted that Military Police personnel must maintain exemplary standards of discipline to serve as role models for others.
During the visit, the Colonel Commandant also inspected the facilities within the camp premises, with particular focus on their maintenance and operational readiness.
The Centre Commandant, Brigadier R M K A S Rajanayake, along with senior officers, officers, the Regimental Sergeant Major, Warrant Officers, SNCOs and NCOs, were present at the occasion.
