The 3rd Regiment of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police proudly celebrated its 34th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its long-standing journey of service and excellence.
The celebrations featured a variety of events, encompassing religious, ceremonial, and recreational activities, all held under the patronage of the present Commanding Officer, Lt Col LGLB Gunarathne USP psc Lsc.
The festivities began with a meaningful Bodhi Pooja ceremony at the Ruwanweliseya on 17 March 2025, followed by Inter Company cricket and volleyball matches were held on 23 March 2025. The day’s proceedings started with the guard turnout and a ceremonial parade, where the troops of the 3rd SLCMP paid honor to the Commanding Officer. The celebration continued with a group photograph, planting of a sapling, all-ranks lunch, and troops address. Later that day, the Commanding Officer officially opened the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess Kitchen, an addition to the facilities within the camp. The day ended with all ranks get together and musical show were held at the camp premises to build coherence and to break the monotones of all ranks.
The Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General U L J S Perera RSP USP nps psc, along with the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier RD Sallay ndc, and the centre commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Brigadier MMMP Mahesh Kumara extended their best wishes to the Commanding Officer and all ranks of the 3rd SLCMP, wishing them continued success in their future endeavors.
