The 2nd Regiment of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police proudly celebrated its 34th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its long-standing journey of service and excellence.
Sequential events were held in conjunction with the anniversary from 29th March to 1st April 2025, under the patronage of the Commanding Officer Lt Col HLSK Jayatissa Lsc.
On 29th March, the troops of 2 SLCMP visited Minneriya Devalaya to seek blessings, marking the first event in a series of magnificent celebrations. To develop camaraderie among the unit members, a cricket tournament was held on 30th March. The following day, a Bodhi Pooja took place to bless all ranks of 2 SLCMP. The ceremonial program commenced with a guard turnout and an impressive parade, celebrating the 34th Anniversary of 2 SLCMP on 01st April gracing the Commanding Officer as the Chief Guest. After the parade, the Commanding Officer planted a sapling in front of the main office complex to symbolize the 34th Anniversary.
Later on held all ranks lunch with the presence of all officers and other ranks with the aim of fostering cooperation and promoting a friendly, healthy working environment. During the event, the Commanding Officer's address provided all ranks with valuable insights and guidance on succeeding in both their professional and personal lives.
The Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General U L J S Perera RSP USP nps psc , along with the Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier RD Sallay ndc, and the centre commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Brigadier MMMP Mahesh Kumara extended their best wishes to the Commanding Officer and all ranks of the 2nd SLCMP, wishing them continued success in their future endeavors.
