The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch was held on 18 January 2026 at the Conference Hall of the Officers’ Mess, Regimental Centre Commando Regiment, Ganemulla.
The AGM was conducted under the patronage of the President of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Samindi Wickramaratne, with the participation of a large number of branch members. The meeting was convened to review the activities carried out by the Seva Vanitha Branch since the previous session and formulate strategies to implement plans more effectively.
The event was further graced by the presence of the Master General of Ordnance and Colonel of the Commando Regiment, Major General K H M S Wickramaratne RSP, along with several senior officers and officers of the Regiment.
Welcoming all attendees, the Chairperson presented a brief review of the various welfare activities undertaken during the previous year. During the meeting, appointments were made to vacant posts and committees of the Seva Vanitha Branch. In addition, a few amendments to the Branch Constitution were approved with the consent of the members.
Subsequently, the President outlined the programmes planned for the forthcoming period. These proposals were discussed in detail during the suggestion and discussion session, enabling members to contribute ideas and recommendations for future activities.
In her concluding remarks, the President delivered a vote of thanks, reaffirming the Seva Vanitha Branch’s continuous commitment to the welfare of the families of Commando Regiment Officers, Other Ranks, and civilian employees. The Annual General Meeting concluded with the strengthening of camaraderie among members, after which all participants dispersed following lunch.
