A felicitation ceremony honouring the dedicated service of past presidents of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch was held on 17 January 2026 at the Officers’ Mess of the Regimental Centre Commando Regiment in Ganemulla.
The event was conducted under the patronage of the current President of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Samindi Wickramaratne. Former Presidents who were honoured at the ceremony included:

Mrs Sujeewa Nelson
Mrs Rosetta Nugeera
Mrs Anuja De Silva
Mrs Subhashini Rajapaksa
Mrs Nimali Ranatunga
A large number of senior and junior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch were also present at the event. The occasion was further graced by the participation of the Master General of Ordnance and Colonel of the Commando Regiment, Major General K.H.M S Wickramaratne RSP, along with several senior officers.
The President and members of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch warmly welcomed the former presidents. In a spirit of gratitude and remembrance, commemorative tokens were presented in appreciation of their invaluable service, while fond memories of their tenure were shared.
Adding colour and vibrancy to the ceremony, performances of song and dance were presented by the Sri Lanka Army cultural team. Following a tea reception, the event concluded on a joyful note with further musical and dance performances, marking the end of a memorable and meaningful celebration.
