NEWLY APPOINTED CENTRE COMMANDANT ASSUMES DUTIES

On 01 September 2025, Brigadier R R C Karunaratna RWP officially assumed duties as the 15th Commandant of the Commando Regiment Centre.

Upon arrival at the main gate, the newly appointed Commandant was warmly received by the Deputy Commandant Lieutenant Colonel K V T S Kekulawala Lsc and honoured with a Guard Turnout.

The day’s proceedings included a tree planting, a group of photograph and religious observances at the office complex, invoking blessings for both the new Commandant and the Regiment. Brigadier R R C Karunaratna RWP also paid his respects to the fallen war heroes of the Regiment by laying a floral tribute at the Commando Regiment War Monument.

Addressing the gathering, Brigadier R R C Karunaratna RWP underscored the importance of safeguarding the well-being of soldiers while upholding the proud traditions of the Army.

The ceremony concluded with an all-ranks tea at the Corporals’ Club, bringing the day’s events to a dignified close.
