The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Commando Regiment organized a Poson Ice Cream Dansala at the Regimental Centre, Commando Regiment, Ganemulla, at 1600 hrs on 10 June 2025. The event was held in celebration of the sacred Poson Poya, with the noble intention of commemorating the advent of Buddhism in Sri Lanka while fostering compassion, unity and generosity within the Regimental community.
The Dansala was specially arranged for the benefit of Officers, Other Ranks and Civil Staff serving at the Regimental Centre. This meritorious act truly reflected the spirit of Poson and was warmly received by all attendees.
The event was conducted under the guidance and leadership of the Commander of the 53 Infantry Division and Colonel of the Regiment - Commando Regiment, Major General KHMS Wickramaratne RSP. The Honourable Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Samindie Wickramaratne, together with other Honourable Members of the Branch, graced the occasion, reaffirming their steadfast commitment to the morale and welfare of the Commando Regiment family.
The presence and active involvement of Mrs. Samindie Wickramaratne, President of the Seva Vanitha Commando Regiment, further added warmth and significance to the event, as she led by example in promoting spiritual values and collective well-being.
The Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch continues its dedicated efforts to uplift the lives of service personnel and their families through such meaningful, culturally significant, and compassionate initiatives.
