The Commando Regiment recently reopened its welfare shop after a full-scale renovation, offering goods at fair and reasonable prices. The shop is accessible not only to commandos but also to civilians living around the camp area, enhancing the local community's access to essential items.
On the same day, a refurbished lecture hall, named "Maroon Legacy," was inaugurated by the 1 Corps Commander and Colonel of the Regiment Commando Regiment, Major General PGPS Rathnayaka RWP RSP ndc. The hall, formerly used for parachute training, was transformed into a modern lecture and reception space. This project was completed swiftly due to the dedication and hard work of both officers and other ranks of the Commando Regiment.
The event was attended by the Center Commandant, Brigadier BMSKK Dharmawardena RWP RSP USP, the Commander of the Commando Brigade, Brigadier KVIL Jayaweera USP, Brigadier MR Razick RSP ndu along with senior officers, officers, and non-commissioned officers.
