With the guidance of the Master General of the Ordnance and Colonel of the Regiment, Commando Regiment, Major General KHMS Wickramaratne RSP, and under the leadership of the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Samindie Wickramaratne, together with the dedicated members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, a series of house visits and welfare assessments were conducted on 23 December 2025 to support Commando Regiment personnel affected by recent natural disasters.
These visits were carried out in response to adverse weather conditions that resulted in landslides, soil erosion, flooding and structural damage across several districts. During the visits, the Seva Vanitha team closely reviewed the extent of damage based on ground-level observations and official notifications issued by the relevant civil authorities. The following Commando Regiment personnel were identified as being adversely affected by the recent natural disasters.
01. WO II Wijerathna DSM – 2 CR,(Rideegama) - Soil erosion under the house; red notice issued.
02. SGT Gunasekara KPSP – 3 CR, (Kegalla) - Structural damage identified; relocation ordered.
03. CPL Senarath SPLM – 3 CR, (Nelundeniya) - Wall damage due to landslide; relocation advised.
04. CPL Keerthisinghe RMK – 3 CR, (Kolongoda) - Landslide-prone area; advised not to reoccupy.
05. L/CPL Perera GRAPD – 1 CR, (Matale) - Partial collapse; wall damage identified.
06. L/CPL Senavirathna WGIN – 2 CR, (Kandy) - Partial landslide; red notice issued.
07. L/CPL Ranathunga EDDP – 3 CR, (Kegalla) - Landslide-prone area; relocation advised.
08. L/CPL Wickramarathna AGUG – 4 CR, (Matale) - Landslide risk identified; red notice issued.
