Seva Vanitha Branch of Commando Regiment Conducts Cookery Training Workshop

The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Commando Regiment, under the guidance of the Colonel of the Regiment, Commando Regiment and Commander 1 Corps, Major General K H M S Wickramaratne RSP and the leadership of its President, Mrs Samindie Wikramarathne, successfully conducted a Cookery Training Workshop on 31 August 2025 at the Meroon Legacy of the Commando Regiment Centre, Ganemulla.

The workshop was specially organized for the spouses of officers, other ranks and service cooks, with the objective of enhancing their culinary knowledge and practical skills in preparing short eats. The session was personally conducted by the President, Mrs Samindie Wickramarathne, who generously shared her extensive knowledge and expertise, ensuring participants gained valuable hands on experience.

The programme received enthusiastic participation and was highly commended for its practical value, relevance and potential to support self employment opportunities. Participants were encouraged to utilize the skills learned to start their own small scale culinary ventures, empowering them to contribute economically while nurturing their creativity.

This initiative, carried out under the vision and guidance of the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Samindie Wikramarathne, is yet another demonstration of the Seva Vanitha Branch’s continued commitment to uplifting the welfare, skills and wellbeing of the Commando Regiment family.
