The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Commando Regiment, under the guidance of the Colonel of the Regiment, Commando Regiment and Commander 1 Corps, Major General K H M S Wickramaratne RSP and the leadership of its President, Mrs Samindie Wickramarathne, successfully conducted the Children’s Day Celebration and School Stationery Items Distribution Programme on 31 October 2025 at 1500 hrs at the Regimental Centre, Ganemulla.
The programme was organized to commemorate World Children’s Day and to bring happiness to the children of Other Ranks and Civil Staff of the Regiment aged between 6 to 15 years. The event featured fun activities, refreshments, and the distribution of essential school stationery packs, symbolizing care and encouragement for the children as they continue their educational journey.
The event was graced by the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Samindie Wickramarathne and the Vice President, Mrs Chandima Perera. Their joint presence and active participation added warmth and significance to the occasion, ensuring a joyful and memorable celebration that strengthened the bond within the Commando Regiment family.
This initiative, conducted under the vision and guidance of Mrs Samindie Wickramarathne, once again reflects the unwavering commitment of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Commando Regiment towards promoting the welfare, happiness, and holistic development of its members and their families.
