Major General M R Razick RSP ndu, the Centre Commandant of the Commando Regiment Centre, ceremonially relinquished his duties on 27 August 2025, marking the end of a distinguished chapter of his service as Centre Commandant.
On arrival, he was warmly received at the Regimental Centre main gate by the Deputy Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel K V T S Kekulawala Lsc, and honoured with a Guard Turnout in keeping with military traditions.
The day’s proceedings commenced with the laying of a floral tribute at the Commando Regiment War Monument, paying homage to the fallen Commandos who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland. Following this solemn moment, Major General Razick addressed the Officers and Other Ranks at the Maroon Legacy, where he reflected on his service tenure, shared his experiences, and extended his heartfelt gratitude to all ranks for their unwavering support and dedication.
Thereafter, he officially handed over duties as the Centre Commandant and joined the officers for a group photograph, symbolizing the significance of the occasion.
The farewell programme concluded with an all-ranks tea at the Corporals’ Club, where Officers, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers, and Other Ranks gathered to extend their best wishes to the outgoing Centre Commandant, bringing the proceedings to a dignified close.
