The Army Inter-Regiment Bodybuilding, Weightlifting, and Powerlifting Tournament 2024 took place from 22 to 24 October at the Army Indoor Stadium in Panagoda. The event featured intense competitions across bodybuilding, weightlifting, and powerlifting categories, with 140 male and female athletes representing 17 regiments in attendance.
Following several thrilling matchups, S/CDO 556031 Corporal Sibera WBN from the 1 Commando Regiment claimed the runner-up position in the men's 120kg weight class in the powerlifting category. Additionally, S/CDO 556152 Warrant Officer II Lakmal JAC, also from the 1 Commando Regiment, secured third place in the men's 67kg weight class in weightlifting.
The event was honoured by the presence of Major General WBJK Wimalarathne RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division and Chairman of the Army Bodybuilding, Weightlifting, and Powerlifting Committee, who served as the Chief Guest.
