The monthly meeting of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch was held on 26th February 2025 at 1500 hours, with the participation of the President and other members. The meeting was chaired by Mrs Samindie Wickramaratne, the President of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, opened the session with remarks highlighting the unit's ongoing efforts to support the welfare of Commando Regiment families. Some members joined the meeting through the Zoom virtual platform, allowing for wider participation and inclusivity.
The first key agenda item focused the Pregnant Ladies Event, covering planning, budgeting and execution to support expectant for pregnant mothers. The Education Fair was reviewed for logistics and participation, aimed at providing academic and career guidance. The Scholarship Program focused on selection criteria and funding strategies for financial assistance.
The Women’s Day Program was also discussed, with plans of Breast Cancer Awareness program to empower women in the Commando Regiment community. Additionally, the financial review of the January budgets was presented, ensuring the sustainability of ongoing projects.
Under any other matters, the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival was discussed as a way to foster cultural unity. The meeting ended with closing remarks from Mrs Samindie Wickramaratne, emphasizing collective efforts in supporting Commando Regiment families.
