The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Commando Regiment successfully conducted an Apparel Entrepreneurship Training Program at 1400 hours on 27 April 2025, at the Commando Regiment Centre. This initiative was launched under the vision and guidance of the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Samindie Wikramarathne, together with the active support of the branch members.
The primary focus of the event was to empower the spouses of other ranks and civil staff by providing them with skills and knowledge to start and manage their own apparel-related businesses. This effort is part of the Seva Vanitha Branch’s broader mission to uplift the living standards of military families and foster self-sufficiency among the regiment’s community.
The training program was conducted by Mrs Roshani Dissanayake, Chairperson of Festal Enterprises, along with her expert team. A total of 70 spouses participated in this valuable session, gaining practical insights and hands-on experience in the apparel industry.
This impactful initiative reflects the continuous commitment of the Commando Regiment towards the welfare and development of its extended military family. The leadership and dedication of Mrs Samindie Wikramarathne, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, played a vital role in making this program a success.
