On October 5, 2024, the Commando Regiment Seva vanitha Branch hosted a vibrant series of events for the children of Commando Regiment families at the Commando Regiment Swimming Pool Complex, in celebration of World Children’s Day. The event featured Mrs. Nimali Ranathunga, President of the Commando Seva vanitha Branch, alongside dedicated members of the branch.
Children enjoyed a day filled with fun activities, and gifts were distributed to ensure a memorable experience. In addition, a tree planting and distribution event took place, thanks to the collaboration with the manager and staff of Ragama Commercial Bank.
The occasion was graced by notable attendees, including Major General K.H.M.S. Wicramarathne RSP, GOC of the 61 Infantry Division; MR Rasic RSP ndu, Center Commandant; Brigadier K.V.I.L. Jayaweera USP, Commando Brigade Commander; and R.G.L.K. Weerakoon RWP RSP, Deputy Center Commandant, along with numerous other officers.
This event not only honored the children but also promoted community engagement and environmental responsibility.
