In line with the 76th Anniversary of the Corps of Engineer Services, a commemorative ceremony was solemnly held on 02nd January 2026 at the War Heroes’ Monument located at the Regimental Headquarters, under the guidance of the Maj Gen KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc Colonel Commandant of the CES.
The ceremony was organized to honor and remember the Officers, Other Ranks, and Civilian Employees of the Corps who made the supreme sacrifice while serving the nation during terrorist conflicts. The event commenced with multi-religious observances, invoking blessings upon the fallen heroes, followed by a dignified and ceremonious parade which added solemnity and grandeur to the occasion.
The event was graced by Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc as the Chief Guest, in the presence of Brigadier NWPSM Perera ,Director of the Directorate of Management & Maintenance ,Brigadier MNJ Perera, Brigadier Admin and Quartering Security Force Head Quarters West, Brigadier M S D Perera USP ptsc, Centre Commandant of Corps of Engineer Service, Col NN Abeysekara, Deputy Centre Commandant of CES along with Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Corps of Engineer Services.
Commemorative text honouring the fallen war heroes who gave their lives for the nation was read by Regimental Adjutant Maj KMJ Pushpakumara Lsc CES. The commemorative event was conducted with due respect and reverence, paying heartfelt tribute to those who rendered invaluable service to the Corps and the nation, ensuring that their noble sacrifices remain forever honored and remembered.
