The Corps of Engineer Services successfully conducted its third quarter Training Day on 24 September 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda, with the participation of Officers and Other Ranks of the Corps.
The day’s proceedings commenced with Morning PT, followed by drill sessions to enhance discipline and coordination. Thereafter, a thought-provoking lecture was delivered by Brigadier NWPSM Perera, the Centre Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, focusing on work–life balance, the path to a successful personal life, and the values of nurturing a strong marriage and family life. His address offered participants meaningful guidance to enrich both their professional and personal lives.
In the evening, all ranks engaged in recreational activities, including volleyball, cricket, and billiards, fostering camaraderie and team spirit among the members.
The programme concluded with a special gathering in the evening, where a Diners’ Club was held at the Officers’ Mess. The event was graced by Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services. The guest speaker of the evening was Brigadier WASR Wijedasa WWV RSP USP ndc psc, the Director Veterans’ Affairs and Rehabilitation of the Sri Lanka Army, who delivered an inspiring address.
Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc, the Director Engineer Services, Brigadier NWPSM Perera, the Centre Commandant of CES, Senior Officers and Officers of the Corps took part in the event.
The Training Day not only strengthened professional knowledge and physical fitness but also built stronger bonds among the Officers and Other Ranks, contributing to the continued excellence of the Corps of Engineer Services.
