The Regimental Headquarters of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES) came alive with music and joy on the evening of 23 August 2025, as it hosted a vibrant Sing-Along event featuring the popular C Plus Band. The musical evening was organized under the guidance of Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services. This enchanting gathering brought together distinguished guests, esteemed military personnel, and their families for an unforgettable evening of music, fellowship, and goodwill.
The The occasion was made even more special by the esteemed presence of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, and Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, the President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, who graced the event as Chief Guests.
Among the distinguished guests were Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc and Mrs. Lilanthi Dolage, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Major General Y A B M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc Mrs. Darshani Yahampath, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc and Mrs. Vindya Premaratne, Commander – Security Force (West) Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc. Also in attendance were the commander of Logistics Command Maj Gen H A M Premaratne psc Lsc and Mrs. Amarapali Batuwanthudawa .
The evening was filled with rhythmic performances and a lively atmosphere, with the audience, comprising officers and their spouses from the Corps of Engineer Services, along with family friends and relatives, gathered with anticipation for an evening of musical delight. To commence the proceedings, the traditional oil lamp was ceremoniously lit by the Chief Guest and other distinguished dignitaries, symbolizing the illumination of unity and harmony.
To heighten the evening’s excitement, a raffle draw was conducted with prize categories for Officers, invitees, and sponsors. The announcement of winners brought a wave of anticipation and enthusiasm, infusing the event with extra thrill and joy.
Among the participants, two outstanding dancing couples were selected based on their captivating performances and were presented with special prizes in recognition of their talent and energy on the dance floor.
This event added a memorable touch to the social calendar of the Corps, promoting fellowship and morale within the regimental community.
