The Training Day of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES) for the third quarter of the year 2025 was successfully held on 04 July 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda, with the participation of a large number of officers and Other Ranks.
The day commenced with a morning physical training session, followed by drill, reinforcing military discipline and physical fitness among officers and Other Ranks. Subsequently, a thought-provoking lecture on "The Social Responsibility of an Army Personnel" was conducted by Mrs. Ama Dissanayaka, attended by an audience of around 300 participants. The session provided meaningful insights into the role of military personnel within family and the society beyond their uniformed duties.
After the lunch, the officers and Other Ranks engaged in evening recreational activities, including cricket, volleyball, and billiards, fostering camaraderie and physical wellbeing.
The evening session featured an enlightening lecture on "Family Management" by Dr. Philip Nehri Mullegama, which was highly appreciated by the audience. The lecture, attended by officers and their spouses, highlighted the importance of balancing professional and personal responsibilities for a successful and meaningful life.
The event was graced by Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc, the Director Engineer Services, and Mrs. Aruni Chandrasekara, the Vice President of the CES Seva Vanitha Branch, as distinguished guests. Brigadier NWPSM Perera, Centre Commandant of CES, Brigadier MNJ Perera, Brigadier Admin & Quartering SFHQ (West), senior officers, officers, and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch took part in the event.
The day’s proceedings concluded with a formal dinner, bringing the training day to a successful close, reinforcing professional development, personal growth, of the all ranks of the Corps.
