The Regimental Headquarters of the Corps of Engineer Services conducted the Inter-Battalion Drill Competition for the year 2025 on the 7th and 8th of April at the Parade Ground of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
This annual event brought together seven battalions, comprising five Regular Battalions and two Volunteer Battalions, in a spirited display of discipline, precision, and military professionalism.
Throughout the two-day event, drill platoons competed under the keen eyes of experienced adjudicators. 3 Engineer Services Regiment emerged as the Best Drill Platoon, demonstrating outstanding coordination and team work.
Individual accolades were also presented to recognize exceptional commanding and instructional skills. Captain RMKD Rathnayake CES, who led the platoon from the 1 Engineer Services Regiment, was awarded Best Platoon Commander, showcasing exceptional command and discipline. Meanwhile, Staff Sergeant Chathuranga KMS, also from the 1 Engineer Services Regiment, was recognized as the Best Drill Instructor.
The Inter-Battalion Drill Competition continues to serve as a prestigious platform to reinforce regimental pride and highlight the high standards maintained within the Corps of Engineer Services.
