A significant milestone was marked in the history of the Corps of Engineer Services with the inauguration of the newly constructed Dining Hall at the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants Mess’, Regimental Headquarters on 03rd January 2025. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc, the Director Engineer Services of the Directorate of Engineer Services, who officially opened the facility.
The new mess is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and expertise of the tradesmen of the Corps of Engineer Services. The event was made possible with the invaluable guidance and leadership of the Colonel Commandant Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, whose strategic vision set the direction for the project. The supervision of the project was entrusted to Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc, the Director Engineer Services, whose oversight ensured that the construction was carried out to the highest standards. Brigadier NWPSM Perera, the Centre Commandant, also played a pivotal role in ensuring the timely completion and smooth execution of the project.
The completion of the Dining Hall at the WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess is another testament to the Corps' continued growth and development, supported by the tireless efforts of its members and the strategic guidance of its leaders.
Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP, Brigadier Admin and Quartering SFHQ (West), Brigadier NWPSM Perera, the Centre Commandant CES, along with the Council Members of the Corps of Engineer Services, were also present at the event, accompanying the Director Engineer Services.
