CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES TRIUMPHS IN SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE INTER-REGIMENT VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

The Corps of Engineer Services (CES) has emerged victorious in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Inter-Regiment Volleyball Tournament 2025, held at the Sri Lanka Army Gymnasium in Panagoda from 25^th to 28^th March 2025. Competing in the A Division, the CES team displayed remarkable skill, teamwork, and resilience throughout the tournament, clinching the championship title.

The tournament saw intense matches between the regiments, but the CES team stood out by winning every match they participated in. Their final victory was a thrilling 3-2 win against the team Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) further solidifying their dominance throughout the tournament.

In recognition of their exceptional individual performances, several players received special awards for their outstanding contributions to the team’s success,

L/Cpl Tharanga OMAD was honored with the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award for his exceptional all-around performance throughout the tournament. Spr Jayasekara MPS was recognized as the Best Server, L/Cpl Wickramasena WADMS was named the Best Receiver and L/Cpl Lahiru GUK earned the Best Setter award for their powerful and consistent performances showcased under pressure throughout the match. These individual awards highlight the extraordinary performances of these players, whose hard work and commitment contributed significantly to the team’s success.

The victory not only brought pride to the Corps of Engineer Services but also highlighted the strength of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship within the military. The success of the CES team in the Volunteer Force Inter-Regiment Tournament is a reflection of the training, effort, and commitment of its personnel.
