As the Corps of Engineer Services marks its 75th anniversary, it is a momentous occasion for reflection, gratitude, and celebration. For seven and a half decades, the Corps has been at the forefront in constructions industry of the Sri Lanka Army. The anniversary is not just a milestone but a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment that has brought the Corps to where it stands today.
To kick start the anniversary celebrations, Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services and the Director General of Directorate of Media and Psychological Operations and the media Spokesperson of the Sri Lanka Army along with the Officers and Other Ranks of the Corps gathered for the flag blessing ceremony symbolizing a deep sense of faith on religious traditions and a commitment to ensuring continued success and prosperity and as the perfect setting for the invocation of blessings and good fortune.
The flag blessing ceremony began with a solemn visit to the Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic, Kandy the most venerated place for the Buddhists in Sri Lanka on 06th December 2024 and the participants prayed for divine guidance and blessings for the Corp’s future, with the hope that it will continue to thrive for generations to come.
After the blessings at the Temple of the Tooth Relic, the flag was then taken to Sri Maha Bodhiya, Anuradhapura on the following day and the flags were offered up for blessings, seeking the protection and prosperity of the Corps as it embarks on another successful year. A perahera was organized from Sanda Hiru Seya to Sri Maha Bodhiya fascinated the event.
