As the Corps of Engineer Services celebrated its remarkable 75 years of service to the nation, Inter-Regiment Cricket Tournament took place at the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Playground on 18th, 19 th, 20 th and 21 st December. The cricket tournament showcased the values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience that the Corps embodies. 18 teams representing All the Engineer Services Regiments and other three establishments along with Directorate of Engineer Services team and Regimental Headquarters team compete together for the champion trophy.
At the end of three competitive days, the field was set for the much-anticipated final match. It was a classic encounter between 7 (V) Engineer Services Regiment and 8 (V) Engineer Services Regiment whereas 8 (V) ESR emerged victorious, clinching the trophy with a well-deserved win. Their comprehensive team effort, both with the bat and the ball, secured them the championship title.
The Corp’s 75th Anniversary Inter-Regiment Cricket Tournament was a resounding success, and it served as a reminder of the importance of sporting events in fostering unity, strengthening bonds, and celebrating the proud legacy of the Engineer Services.
