Making the 76th Anniversary of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES), an Overnight Pirith Chanting Ceremony followed by an Alms Giving was reverently conducted on 02nd January 2026 at the Regimental Headquarters of the Corps of Engineer Services, under the direction of Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, the Colonel Commandant of the CES.
The overnight Pirith chanting was conducted with due reverence by members of the Maha Sangha, creating a serene and spiritually uplifting atmosphere throughout the night. This was followed by an Alms Giving on the following morning, offered to the Maha Sangha in a spirit of gratitude, respect, and devotion, further signifying the Corps’ commitment to Buddhist traditions and national values.
The event was graced by Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc as the Chief Guest, in the presence of Brigadier NWPSM Perera, Director of the Directorate of Management & Maintenance; Brigadier MNJ Perera, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Security Force Headquarters West; Brigadier M S D Perera USP ptsc, Centre Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services; Colonel NN Abeysekara, Deputy Centre Commandant of CES, along with Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and Civilian Employees of the Corps of Engineer Services.
