Abhimansala 3 wellness Resort in Pangolla to look into welfare aspects of residing inmates, under the guidance of Mrs. Ruvini Sujeewa Wickramaratne, Hon. Chairman of SVB- SLNG.
45 inmates are receiving treatments at Abhimansala 3 wellness Resort and 3 piece band of RHQ SLNG entertained them with soothing music and a spectacular dance was performed by inmates in consonance with the melodious music of Regimental music group.
Hon. President of SVB SLNGRuviniSujeewaWickramaratne handed over two Water Purification Machines worth Rs.500,000.00 (donated to SevaVanitha Branch of SLNG by France Sri Lanka Welfare Association) , for the use of Officers and ORs serving in Ranaviru Apparels Yakkalaon 25 August 2017.

A Bodhi Pooja was held at Kelaniya Raja MahaViharaya on 25August 2017 under the guidance and patronage of Colonel of the Regiment and the Hon. President of SevaVanitha Branch to invoke blessings to the son of the Commanding Officer of 13 Sri Lanka National Guard who was to undergo a surgical operation (Bone Marrow Transplant) on11September 2017.
This Bodhi Pooja was conducted by Ven. Godapola Nanda Thero of Kelaniya Raja MahaViharaya. Members of the SVB along with the Hon. President participated in this event.
12 X Chemo Beds denoted by France Sri Lanka Welfare Association Formed under SVU- SL Army were presented to Cancer Treatment Unit at Kandy Teaching Hospital at a simple ceremony on 18.07.2017, fulfilling a long -awaited need.
The inaugural monthly meeting of SVU SLNG for the year 2017 was held on 28.01.2017 presided by the Hon. president of SVU SLNG at 1000 hrs at the Regimental Conference Hall.
Presenting school necessities to 25 children of SLNG war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice become differently abled in action and serving members took place at the event and certificates were awarded to 10 SLNG members who successfully completed for the third consecutive time.
Sri Lanka National Guard in recognition of the value of little guardians organized a distribution ceremony of school items for the benefit of 50 school going children of Guardian war heroes those who made the supreme sacrifice, became disabled in action and presently serving service personnel./
The event was held on 27 January 2017 at the main hall of the Regimental centre SLNG with the gracious sponsorship of philanthropist Mr. Nihal Dharmasiri, Mrs. Dharmasiri, family members their cousin Mr. Thilan Rathnayaka along with members of his family.
A sleeping mattresses production project launched by the Regimental Headquarter Battalion, SLNG was commissioned on 8 April 2017 under the guidance of Colonel of the Regiment, Maj Gen A P De Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc, the project was ceremonially launched by Hon. President of SVU- SLNG Mrs. Ruvini Sujeeva Wickramaratne at the presence of the Colonel of the Regiment.
Members of SLNG Seva vanitha Unit headed by Hon. president- SVU undertook a visit to Mulleriyawa Hospital which houses patients with mental ailments on 20.06.2017 on the advice of Colonel of the Regiment , Maj Gen A P de Z wickramaratne R W P ndu psc and on the supervision and guidance of Hon. President of SLNG- SVU Mrs. Ruvini Sujeewa Wickramaratne . A section of Regimental Staff officers too attended the event.
The newly constructed house for S/Q108186 Lance Corporal Chathurange NDT of 13 SLNG, residing in Thissamaharama who became disabled in battle was ceremonially handed over to the war hero’s family by Major General A P De Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc, Colonel Of the Regiment SLNG and Mis Ruvini Sujeewa Wickramaratne, Hon. Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Unit on 14 May 2017. The financial allocation for the construction were collected as indicated below and 3 SLNG provided their noteworthy contribution manpower assistance for the construction.
