The Inter Battalion Cricket and Tug of War Tournament organized by 5 SLEME and EME Armd Bn as a concept of Colonel Commandant of SLEME Regiment and under the supervision of Centre Commandant of RHQ SLEME got underway at 5 SLEME Cricket ground in Saliyapura on 6th and 7th February 2025.
The 59th Army Inter Regimental Athletics Championship concluded on 31.03.2024 at Sugathadasa International Stadium. There, Corps of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers beat 25 regiments and scored 277 points to win the championship for the tenth time. And the Artillery Regiment won the second place by scoring 251 points.
According to the guidance of the the Comd Army Logistics Comd & Col Comdt of Corps of SLEME Major General SPAIMB Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc, RHQ SLEME organized a glamorous tea party to EME sportsmen who performed well during the Inter Regiment sports events in 2023 in appreciating hard works and dedication towards the Corps of EME.
Army Inter regiment swimming championship 2022 was held on 25 and 26 October and the closing ceremony was held on 01 November at Panagoda Army cantonment swimming complex.. SLEME swimming team won the championship obtaining 361 total marks and leading 132 marks to the Gajaba regiment swimming team who became the runners up in the tournament.
Inter Regiment Squash Championship 2022 was held from 23rd September 2022 to 30th September 2022 at the Panagoda Squash Stadium Complex.
SLEME team member S/629684 L/CPL Bandara PG won Runner Up trophy in the Men’s Open singles Championship after the competitive fight between GR competitor.
Fifteen Volleyball teams from each EME establishment participated in the SLEME inter battalion volleyball tournament organized at the 2(V) SLEME Regiment Ground.
The final tussle between Regimental Head Quarter team and EME Arty Battalion team were held on Sunday (25) and Regimental Head Quarter team won the championship by 2-1 in the final encounter.
Inter Regiment Water Polo Championship 2022 was held on 20th and 21st of September at the Panagoda Swimming Pool Complex. During the tournament team SLEME defeated the Sri Lanka Army Sinha Regiment with 7-2 points in the first rounds and they won by 12-4 against Sri Lanka Army Service Corps in the second rounds and enter the finals with SLCMP.
The Inter Regiment Athletic Championship of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) concluded at Sugathadasa Stadium Colombo on Friday (5) in the presence of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake attending the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.
