The Army Service Corps School At Tisawewa, Anuradhapura On Thursday (14) Afternoon Rolled Out A Red Carpet To Welcome The Visiting Indian Army’s Chief Of The Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Together With His Host General Shavendra Silva, Chief Of Defence Staff And Commander Of The Army.

මින්නේරිය අශෝකාරාමය විහාරස්ථානාධිපති ස්වාමින් වහන්සේගේ ඉල්ලීම මත එම විහාරස්ථානයේදී ප‍්‍රදේශයේ අඩු ආදායම්ලාභි පවුල් 150 ක් සදහා අවැසි අත්‍යාවශ්‍ය ද්රව්ය බෙදාදීම සිදුකරන ලදී. ඒ සදහා ශ‍්‍රී ලංකා යුද හමුදා සේවා බළකා සේවා වනිතා ඒකකයේ ගරු සභාපතිතුම්ය නිශාන්ති අබෙිරත්න මහත්මියගේ සම්බන්ධීකරණයෙන් සහ මොබිිටෙල් ආයතනයේ අනුග‍්‍රාහකත්වය යටතේ 2021.07.25 දින එම අවශ්‍යතා ද්රව්ය විහාරස්ථානය වෙත භාරදීම හා ගම්වාසින් වෙත බෙදාදීම කොවිඩි 19 වෛරස ව්‍යාප්තිය වැලැක්වීම සදහා සෙඛ්‍ය අංශ වෙතින් නිකුත් කර ඇති උපදෙස් වලට අනුව සිදුකෙරුණි.

Commander FMA(E) Brigadier TM Abeyrathne RSP Lsc assumed duties as the 23rd Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps on 07 May 2021 in a simple ceremony at the RHQ SLASC. Due to the prevailing Covid 19 pandemic situation in the country, taking over formalities were carried out in accordance with the health guidelines.

Commander Forward Maintenance Area (KLN) Major General MIP Nanayakkarawasam received Guard of Honour offered in honour of his promotion to the rank of Major General at 0930 hrs on 12 February 2021 at the Parade Ground RHQ SLASC. After the parade Major General MIP Nanayakkarawasam appeared for a group photograph and planted a sapling.

Foundation stone for the Holiday Resort of SLASC Ex - Servicemen's Association was laid at the auspicious time on 28 December 2020. The Holiday Resort is constructed at a plot of land in the heart of Katharagama city. The Col Comdt SLASC and Director General Agriculture and Livestock Maj Gen Indrajith Kandanaarachchi was the Chief Guest at the occasion. The Chairman of SLASC Ex - Servicemen's Association Maj Gen (Retd) MRU Bandarathilake USP, Maj Gen (Retd) CME Chandrasekera RSP USP and the Cen Comdt SLASC Col Ashoka Ambanpola also were among the participants at the occasion. The Holiday Resort is to be dedicated for the benefit of the members of SLASC Ex - Servicemen's Association.

Colonel Commandant SLASC and Director General Agriculture and Livestock , Maj Gen Indrajith Kandanaarachchi received the Guard of Honour on 10 Nov 2020 at the Parade Ground RHQ SLASC offered in honour of his promotion to the rank of Maj Gen. The event followed an address to Officers and ORs, planting of a sapling and all ranks tea.

Col Comdt SLASC and the Dir Agriculture and Livestock Brigadier Indrajith Kandanaarachchi was promoted to the rank of Major General on 02 Nov 2020. Newly promoted Major General Indrajith Kandanaarachchi received insignia from the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army Commander’s office in AHQ on 03 Nov 2020.

SLASC marked another victory in the Army Athletics. SLASC Athletic team became the RUNNERS UP in the 55th ARMY ROAD RACE - 2020. SLASC also became the BEST EMERGING REGIMENT in the ARMY ROAD RACE which was awarded for the first time in the history of Army Road Race.

Waggoners’ holiday bungalow for Other Ranks which was a long felt need of SLASC was constructed in 8 SLASC camp premises. The construction of the holiday bungalow was estimated for Rs 140 lakhs. With the guidance of the Colonel Commandant SLASC and the Director Agriculture and Livestock Brigadier Indrajith Kandanarachchi and the Centre Commandant SLASC Colonel Asoka Ambanpola and with tremendous commitment of the Commanding Officer 8 SLASC Lt Col Shalutha Jayawardane psc and contribution of all ranks, the entire project was completed by Rs. 85 lakhs.
