SLASC SCHOOL - TISSAWEWA


ASC School was born as the Ceylon Army Service Corps driving school in 1953 with the training of 6 Other Rankers by using one heavy vehicle at Kirulapana Polhengoda Army Camp. The honour of conducting this course goes to S/81006 Sgt. Henry W A, who is one of the initial members of the regiment. Thereafter, the catering assistant training course was started with 5 cooks. This course was initiated by S/81012 WO I R Kelee who was serving as catering instructor of the Regiment. Accordingly, the CASC Driving School was named as CASC trade school. Introducing of the clerk course for Army soldiers at the same premises in 1956, this CASC trade school was further perfected as a professional school. It was a special feature where civil servants who worked in the Ceylon Army under the Civil Administrative Service lectured the clerk course.   Read More...
