The history of the 2nd Sri Lanka army service Corps dates as far back as the early years of the 20thcentury, when the idea of forming a separate unit to carry out the all-important functions of ‘Supply and Transport’, was mooted during the fateful years of World War I during 1914 to 1918. Thus, Ceylon Supply & Transport Corps established on 12thApril 1918 and modeled itself on the lines of the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC). Since the role and functions of the Ceylon Supply and Transport Corps (CS & TC) were akin to that of the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC), an alliance was formed between the RASC and CS & TC on 31st March 1930 with the concurrence of His Majesty King George V and the uniform, insignia, badges and traditions of the RASC were adopted. .    Read More...
