Under the guidance of Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army in recognition of the important role that the Sri Lanka Army has to play in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Operations, “Sri Lanka Army Centre for Disaster Response Training” (SLACDRT) has been established to provide and facilitate Education, Training and Research in Civil - Military Operations in the National and International Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance arena.
At present, SLACDRT plays a vital role with the aim of sharpening the skills and improving the theoretical knowledge of the military personnel when dealing with the possible disaster situations in the country. In order to achieve that goal as per the training schedule 2021, Basic Disaster Response Course - No 10 has commenced with the opening remarks by Colonel Anil Somaweera RWP RSP USP MSc, Commandant SLACDRT on 28th October 2021 at the Sri Lanka Army Centre for Disaster Response Training. 05 x 136 tps from Security Forces Headquarters (Mullaitivu), Security Forces Headquarters (East) and 58 Infantry Division has attended for Basic Disaster Response Course No 10.
The Course is scheduled to be terminated on 20th December 2021.
