Aim

Any soldier of the Army is to be prepared to respond, collaborate, and manage natural and man-made disasters

Vision

To be the centre of teaching and sustainable training in moulding a fully-fledged military figure in the aspect of Analysing, Mitigating and Managing of carrying out a range of activities related to Disasters, Hazards, Vulnerabilities, Risk Analysis on Disaster Management.

Mission

The Training center Creates, Promotes and fosters individual and Teams effectiveness by developing and offering an array of innovative and diverse programs in support of the organization’s commitment to employee development, partnerships, and organizational enrichment.

Objectives

To provide comprehensive and thorough knowledge, skills and understanding of Disaster Analysis, Management and Mitigation.
To ensure the use of appropriate procedures and guidelines for and responding to disasters and threats of disasters in Sri Lanka in order to save lives and property
To integrate Disaster Management Training Curriculum in continuing education
To introduce sustainable mechanisms, structures, programmes to enhance capabilities for mitigating disaster risks
To implement training curriculum on community-based disaster management and micro assurance to improve the resilience of the vulnerable communities
To develop skills and knowledge for disaster and emergency preparedness, response, and rapid recovery
To support all military establishments and military training centres in developing disaster and emergency plans.
