The final exercise 'Exercise Lending Hand' was conducted with course attenders of Basic Disaster Response Course No - 8 at the Sri Lanka Army Centre for Disaster Response Training (SLACDRT) on 16 February 2021 in the general area Kotmale reservoir at the end of their 40 days training periods. Brigadier J M S G B Jayamaha RWP RSP USP, Commander 583 Infantry Brigade graced the glamorous occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Exercise “Lending Hand “ consists with Emergency Operation Centre (EOC), Landslide Rescue Operations, Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) operations, Water Rescue Exercise and Camp Management activities. Above mentioned scenarios were demonstrated by the students successfully by applying the theoretical & practical knowledge of the course.
