According to the concept of Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Tamil Language Proficiency courses were conducted at every under command battalions in Kilinochchi.
The objective of these courses were to develop the Tamil Language skills of the military members in the Security Forces Kilinochchi for the provision of an efficient service without any language barrier. This is the concluded fourth course of year 2017 and 750 Army personnel were participated for this course.

A new building consists of a tailor shop, saloon and a cobbler shop was opened on 14 February 2018 at the Security Force Headquarter Kilinochchi premises with the purpose of extending welfare facilities for Army personnel.

Military salutes, including a Guard of Honour and a Guard Turnout formally greeted General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan Army who is in Sri Lanka on a goodwill tour at the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart when he visited the Army Headquarters Tuesday (16) morning to meet his Sri Lankan counterpart.
