592 බල සේනා මූලස්ථානයේ ඉතිහාසය

592 Bde was raised on the 29th Dec 2007 as the second Brigade under the 59 Div. It was initially formed at Sarvodaya Centre in Sripura and was later stationed in Mahaweli Quarters. O/ 60633 Col HMP De Silva was appointed as the first brigade commander. 14 GR , 14SLSR and 12 SLLI were the first Bn’s under comd to 592 Bde. Then in Feb 2008 the Bde Hq was moved to Kalyanapura in Welioya. Troops from 26 SLNG,13 SLNG and 17 SLNG were att to the Bde in the beginning.Then the Bde fought its way from Kiriibbanwewa in Dec 2008and pushed the LTTE forward tps and advanced to the Andankulam Forest Reserve in Mullaithivu in February 2009.The advance continued and the tps advanced to Thanduvan and was temporarily stationed in Thanduvan. Further advance continued and 592Bde tps advanced to Mulliyaveli in March 2009.Then the Bde moved to Oddusudan for a short period and was again shifted to Vattappalai area in May 2009. While the Bde was in Vattapplai a new premises to house 592 Bde was built at Nandikadal and later when 59 Div wanted an appropriate location to relocate the Div Hq 592 Bde had to wdr from Nandikadal to the present loc at Mathawalasinghekulamin December 2009.And now the Bde HQ is permanently located at Mathavalasinghekulam.
