COMMANDER OF THE ARMY VISITS SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (CENTRAL)

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army made an official visit to the Security Force Headquarters (Central) on 1 November 2025.

During the visit, the Commander of the Army attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Officers’ Mess and Officers’ Accommodation complex at the Army Base Hospital, Diyatalawa. The occasion was attended by Major General KAWNH Bandaranayake USP, Commander Security Forces (Central), together with the Commander, Logistic Command (Central), Director Engineer Services, Director Army Medical Services and other senior officers.

Following the inauguration, the Commander of the Army inspected the newly established medical laboratory at the Army Base Hospital, Diyatalawa, and subsequently joined an All Ranks tea party, where he interacted cordially with officers and Other Ranks.

During the visit, the Commander of the Army also received a comprehensive briefing on troops under command. “Operational Readiness and the Wellbeing of Troops” from the Commander, Security Forces (Central).

Subsequently, the Commander of the Army inspected the premises of the Security Force Headquarters (Central), and visited several military establishments in the area, including 7th Regiment, Sri Lanka Signal Corps, 1st Battalion the Gemunu Watch, 7th Regiment, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Sri Lanka Military Academy and Sri Lanka Army Recruit Training Centre (Diyatalawa).
