Major General PKWWMJSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, newly appointed 17th General Officer Commanding of 12 Infantry Division made an official visit to headquarters of 121 Infantry Brigade, 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 18 Battalion the Gamunu Watch on 24 July 2024.
The GOC received warm welcome on the arrival from the Brigade Commander and the respective Commanding Officers of the battalions. The General Officer Commanding was briefed regarding the responsibilities, roles and tasks of brigade and respective battalions by the Commanders.
Afterwards, the officers and other ranks of the brigade and battalions were addressed by the GOC and appreciated the duties carried out during recently concluded Kataragama Esala Festival. Further GOC highlighted importance of the Army’s contribution for the national security. Finally he emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of discipline among officers and other ranks while stressing the raising awareness about illegal activities.
